Camping

Last weekend we went camping at Timpanooke campground in the Alpine Loop. To give you a reference, it's behind Mt. Mahogany which is often called the little brother to Mt. Timpanogos. If you know where my parents live, Mt. Mahogany is the mountain right behind their house. Anyway, Staurday (since Brandon worked Friday night) we loaded up the tent trailer, and along with my cousin Sierra we headed up! Saturday was a rainy day. In the valley that day the high was 74 degrees and the low that night was 45 degrees, so you can imagine how chilly it was in the mountains. We knew it would not be warm so we packed lots of layers and blankets. The reality hit when at dinner we could see our breath. I know some of you out there might think we are crazy for taking our 5 weeks old baby camping, but he was well bundled and slept very well with just a few times waking up to eat. The next day was beautiful. Once the sun came out it was perfect weather. Sierra and Annie explored our site, and had fun naming all the squirrels that visited our site. We also had some chipmunks, one of which climed up my Dad's pant leg while they were visiting.
At one point to did get windy, so we hung out in the trailer. Here Ethan wowed us with his strong muscles and ability to lift his head.

Even with the cold, it was a great trip. This summer we only got to camp once due to the pregnancy. We look forward to next summer's camping trips!
