Sunday Drive

Sunday afternoon we decided to take a drive and go off roading. We went into the American Fork canyon, to the Alpine loop and then through the Timpooneke Campground. Here starts a 10+ mile dirt road that will take you roughly above Pleasant Grove over looking the valley. The mountain you are on is Mt. Mahogany which has an elevation of 9001 ft. We took Freeway, Annie and some snacks and loaded into the Bronco. Annie loved the ride. It was bumpy and she would laugh and laugh and say "whoa!"
About half way through the drive we stopped to take a picture of the breathtaking views. At this point we were looking in a canyon. It was incredible.

An hour into the ride we neared the end and could see the valley. A storm was rolling in, so it was pretty windy up there. The view of the lake was amazing as was the view of the valley. We had cell service up there, so we called my Mom and sent some picture messages all from on top of a mountain.
Annie ran around while eating her muffin.
I took time to brave the wind for a cute picture.

There is not outlet for the drive, you have to turn around and go back. It was so worth the bumps and wind. I highly suggest it if you have a truck or SUV. Just make sure you use the bathroom before you go.

This last picture of Annie with the tall grass and the mountains in the back is such a great picture. She's such a sweet girl.
