Last Camping Trip of the Season

Last weekend we went to Lodgepole campground for the last trip of the season. While setting up camp we realized our first trip of the year was at Lodgepole, so it was fitting that we ended there too. This time we were in site 22 and loved it! It was a great weekend-relaxing and great weather. We got there about 7pm and started setting up the trailer. While Brandon did that, Freeway supervised, and I chased Annie. She has been into rocks. She found a few. Some that were pretty light and would toss them on the ground. She thought she was pretty cool that she was strong enough to throw a rock. She would laugh each time and run to get the rock and do it again.
Freeway took a break from his supervisory duties to take a picture with me before we got ready to turn in for the night.
Saturday we went into Heber to get a few minor things we forgot at the store and to take Annie to see the Choo Choo's. She had a blast walking around the train yard. She has been into Thomas the Tank Engine and anything having to do with trains. If she even sees a train track she gets all excited and we hear "Choo Choo!" from the backseat. She is so smart to know that the tracks are where the trains go. The Heber Creeper was about to leave so we took some pictures and then waited for it to leave. When it did it blew it's horn, which startled her but did not scare her. She waived good bye and then was on to another train.

On the way home for Heber, Annie feel asleep so Brandon took the chance to go exploring. We followed this dirt road up the side of a mountains and found some free camp spots (no bathrooms thought but tons of people) and some beautiful meadows.
There were still some wildflowers along the way. I think next spring we will take the same road to see all the flowers in bloom. I love wild flowers. So pretty.
When we had reached the end we found ourselves back to the highway. There were two guys come towards up on horses. One of the men saw Annie watching his horse and came over to us. He offered to let Annie sit on his horse "Snoop" for a picture, but she was not to sure about that. We settled for a picture next to Snoop instead.
We love camping. We were able to go four times this year. We could probably go more, but it will start to get a bit chilly at night. I am sure we will have more day adventures!
