It's a great hike, not to hard or to long. It's also very shady if you come at the right time. It was beautiful and had all my favorite smells. Here is a shot from about the middle of the hike.

Hiking to Stuart Falls
Yesterday we went for a drive in the canyon. We were hoping that the Alpine Loop was open, but it was not. It will open June 6th from what the ranger told us. So we thought about hiking to Stuart Falls near Aspen Grove on the Provo side. While deciding if we were going to hike it, we saw my friend Danny Lemley, who I have known my whole life. He and his wife Lacey were going to hike there with their baby Ares, so we decided it would be a blast to hike with them! So we started our 3 mile round trip hike. We brought my parent's dog Freeway too.

We made it to the falls. Here is a picture of Brandon, Annie and Freeway. Annie walked about half of the hike, and sat on Dad's shoulders for the rest. We found a great backpack on eBay and it should be coming any days now! So we will have that for future hikes.
Here is the Lemley Family. Ares is almost 3 months old. He did pretty well for his first hike. He rode in his backpack for some of the time, slept for some, and got carried! What a life!

There is another trail that leads to the base of the falls. It's not to long but a little steep. Steeper then we wanted to do with the kids or Freeway, but that did not stop Danny! He ran down there, took some pictures, and looked around.
Then we started the hike back. It was about 5:30 at this time, so there was not much heat or sun. It was great. Annie helped walk Freeway towards the end. He is a great dog-he never pulls you. He did pretty good for an old dog!
