Christmas Day

No Christmas would be complete with out our favorite Christmas loving Jew Katy and her dog Martini. So lets start there! Twas the day of Christmas and all through the house everyone was excited even the pug! The stockings were hung over the wood burning stove with care (all 8-oldest to youngest), and it seems Santa was there!
Annie was the cutest of course opening here's first and then helping others.
Me in my 'kerchief ( not really but just play along) and Ben in his cap had just geared up for the morning run.
When out through the lawn there arose such a clatter. Away from the window I flew like a flash to that Martini had met the neighbor's pony Clyde who was hanging out in my parent's yard.
Well I guess this is where the rhyme ends-I am plum out of ideas on how to work it in, so on with the pictures. Annie thought it was very fun opening the gifts. She opened hers....

And then helped others open theirs.....
Then jumped into the pile of paper and had a blast!
Dinner was full of wonderful tasting honey ham (shipped from the Golden Baked Ham store in Encinitas) and many other yummy things. Stephanie and I made desert! Cranberry upside down cake-it was wonderful!
The day also did not go without it's rough points, While trying to get Meme up for the morning we noticed that this was going to be a hard day. She wanted nothing to do with us and was angry. My parents tried to go over later after giving her time to cool off but it did not help. She was more angry then ever (ah Alzheimer's) and had to be taken to the hospital to be hydrated, tested and given her meds. She was there for a few days. While she has no memory of it , it did take and emotional toll on us all. On the positive side we got to talk to my brother Tim who is serving his mission in New Mexico. He is doing great and it's exciting to know that next Christmas he will be back!
